Recreation Programs

New Minas Recreation has plenty of exciting programs for the young and the young at heart! Most programs take place at the Louis Millet Community Complex, located at 9489 Commercial Street.

Please note that all classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and once classes are filled we will not be able to take more registrations. All classes require a minimum number of participants to run.  While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, programs and program times are subject to change.  For any open gym related activities, please be familiar with our Open Gym Rules.

BOXING (New Class!)

W/ Glenn White (902-300-4068): Former coach for Valley Boxing Academy with 10 + years experience.  Certified through Boxing NS.

About the Class:  30 minutes boxing technique, followed by 30 minutes strength & cardio training.  For ages 16 +

Gym shoes and workout clothes mandatory – no other equipment needed.

HATHA YOGA (New Instructor!)

About Sarah:  Sarah Pound is a certified yoga instructor who teaches in an eclectic approach. In her classes, there is time for slowing down, centring, and getting the heart rate up. From her experience, yoga soothes the mind and heals the body. Our mind, body and spirit are all connected and through this ancient practice we can profoundly benefit our overall health and well-being.

Wednesdays, beginning January 8 (ongoing)
