Sports Start for Kids - Co-ed, ages 4–8
Jan 23 – April 2, 2012
Through instruction and modified games, with a HUGE emphasis on FUN, this program will introduce your child to the world of sports
Active Start (Ages 4-6): Physical activity should always be fun and not a task! Our active start program aims to teach children the ABC’s of movement—Agility, Balance, Coordination, and Speed— through games and activities your little ones will love.
Fundamentals (Ages 6-8): Running, jumping, catching, kicking, throwing, swinging and hitting are the basic fundamental sport skills. They allow children to play several sports with ease. This 10 week program will include 2 sessions—one for “hitting games”, and one for “ball games”
Introduction to hitting games – teaches children to hit stationary and moving objects with a variety of bats and racquets, providing the building-block skills for softball, baseball, hockey, golf, tennis, badminton, racquetball or squash.
Introduction to ball games – teaches the throwing, hitting, catching, passing and kicking skills that could lead to later involvement in basketball, volleyball, soccer, rugby, team handball and other similar games.
