The
New Minas Fire Department, which is responsible for fire protection
of the Village of New Minas and surrounding areas, is currently
accepting applications for male and female members.
In addition to fire protection, the department also has several
speciality rescue and emergency response teams. These include
a high angle rope learn, water rescue/dive team, hazardous material
response team and vehicle extrication team and consist of members
who have an interest or speciality in these areas. Opportunity
also exists for members interested in the Radio Communications/Computer
operator area of the fire department.

new members can fill out the form below and mail it to or drop
it off at the fire hall Wednesday evenings and we will contact

out and be part of a highly trained team of volunteers.
New
Minas Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary
The New Minas Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary held its first
meeting of 1999 in February. The auxiliary, which meets once a
month in the upstairs of the fire hall, currently has 10 members.
The auxiliary invites anyone interested in attending the meetings,
which are usually held the second Tuesday of each month.
The officers are: Doris Pinch, president; Vera Burke, secretary;
Brenda Redmond, treasurer; and Laura Huntley, advertising/sick
and visiting.
