Week 1:   June 30 - July 4    (No July 1) - $60.00 / $50.00 second family member

Week 2:   July 7 - July 11  - $70.00 ea. /$60.00 second family member

Week 4:   July 21 - July 25  -  $70.00 ea. /$60.00 second family member

The New Minas Recreation Department will be offering its very popular Annual March Break Recreation Day Camp March 10 - 14, 2008 for children aged 5-12. This years camp location will be located at New Minas Elementary School. The First day of camp is Monday, March 10, 2007 and will end on Friday, March 14, 2007.

March Break Recreation Day Camp will operate daily from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Extended hours are available from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm. for an extra $15 per participant for the week.

There will be a "theme" each day and activities will take place around the theme.

Registration and Costs:

Registration takes place at the New Minas Civic Center or Recreation Office at Lockhart & Ryan Memorial Park on a first come, first serve basis. Do not be disappointed, as we will only be accepting a maximum 40 participants. We had 40 participants daily in 2007! Please register early.

The Fee of camp is $75.00 per participant for the whole week, $65.00 for each additional family member. Fees include costs for trips, etc.

Activities will include popular activities from last year: swimming, skating, bowling, trips, outings, sporting and leisure activities, etc. Fun for everyone! You have our 100% guarantee.

Registration Forms will be available at the New Minas Civic Center and distributed with children through schools.

Summer Camps will teach the fundamentals of sport, experience the world of arts, science and computers all while building self-esteem and self-confidence, learning to co-operate with others and making lasting new friendships.

We will offer the highest quality summer camp programs for children in New Minas and surrounding areas that provide learning opportunities in a safe and caring environment and where the focus is on having fun and developing friendships.

Participants will be happy and enjoy themselves under the guidance and careful supervision of our trained and experienced staff - you have our guarantee.

Summer Camps Information

Each camp will be offered for one week at a time for 8 weeks. There will be a weekly theme for each camp:

Week 1: July 2-6
Week 2: July 9-13
Week 3: July 16-20
Week 4: July 23-27
Week 5: July 30-August 3
Week 6: August 7-10 (No camp scheduled on August 6 due to Civic Holiday)
Week 7: August 13-17
Week 8: August 20-24
August 24 - Last Day of Camp! We hope you have had the time of your life.

Camps are five-day, one week programs unless otherwise stated.
Parents/campers must adhere to sign-in and sign-out procedures.

Age Policy
Participants registering for a Camp must meet the specified age requirements. Age minimums are in place to ensure the physical ability and mental preparation of each child for a full day of activities.

Participant-To-Instructor Ratio
Camp Ratios are 1 Leader to every 10 Participants.

Camp Location & Facilities
Camp locations will be based/housed out of New Minas and will be held at Evangeline Middle School (EMS), New Minas Elementary School (NMES), New Minas Baptist Church, New Minas Civic Centre and Lockhart Ryan Memorial Park.

Camp Times - Regular Hours:
Summer Day Camps will operate daily from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. You must drop-off between 8:45 am - 9:00 a.m. each day and pick-up between 3:45-4:00 p.m.

Extended Hours:
To add ease and convenience for busy parents. Parents can customize the program supervision to meet your schedule. Extended Hours are offered from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm. for only an extra fee of $15 per participant per week.

Participants will be supervised by recreation staff who will lead them through passive activities that may include board games, cards, drawing, reading, movies, various active games, crafts and quiet games before and/or after Regular Hours.

Registration and Fees:
Look for our Summer Program 2007 Registration on Saturday, May 12 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the County Fair Mall, Center Court.

Registrations will be accepted at the New Minas Civic Center on a first come, first serve basis after May 12. Do not be disappointed, please register early.

There will be no refund for days missed.

Fee of each camp is $55.00 per participant for one week. Fees include costs for day trips. Payment can be made by cash, debit, cheque or post dated cheques for your convenience.

Week # 6 of August 7 to August 10 is a short week due to the Civic Holiday.
The fee of camp for this week is $45.00 per Participant.

Please remember to save your official receipt for the Healthy Tax Credit.

Getting To Camp
There are many ways for campers to get to and from camp. Most commonly, campers are either dropped off/picked up by a parent/guardian.

With summer quickly approaching New Minas Recreation Preschool Day Camp is back in full force and is providing a jam-packed eight weeks of guaranteed summer fun just for your preschooler!

Preschool Camp offers children the opportunity to socialize with their peers in a safe and inviting environment, enhance their fine motor skills, utilize their creativity, keep them physically active as well as allow them to participate in an array of age-appropriate games, crafts and activities - all under the supervision of experienced leaders!

A new and exciting theme is offered for all eight weeks of Preschool Camp. Theme weeks offered this year include the following:

With 8 action-packed theme weeks there is something for everyone.

Come and have fun with us during our "Fun in the Sun" week or come "On Safari" as we take a walk on the wild side with a trip to Oaklawn Farm Zoo and Aylesford Lake. We have plenty of day trips planned as well as an over night trip and a new theme every week to ensure a summer packed full of fun! To top it all off we will be having "BBQ and Slip n' Slide Fridays" several times over the course of the summer.

This year's Senior Day Camp promises to be a fun-filled summer of games, creative activities and group field trips that will create memories to last a lifetime.

Each week there will be different themes such as Wet N' Wild Water Week, Mission Impossible and Who Wants to be on a Reality Show. With each theme participants will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, crafts, games and excursions relating to the week's theme. Some excursions include taking trips to Oaklawn Farm, Buskers, the New Minas Fire
Station, Upper Clements Park and regular trips to Aylesford Lake.

Capture the Flag, dodgeball, relays, laser tag, charades, scavenger hunts, crafts, costume contests, as well as other recreational activities are some of the many highlights of the Senior Day Camp.  In addition, there are regular barbeques and soap slides with the other New Minas Day Camps.

Sports Camp (ages 6-13)

Back by popular demand the Sports Camp will further meet the needs and interests of the participants who are true sports enthusiasts! We're more than sports as we offer a summer experience of fun and friendship! Participants will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of organized team and individual sports and active games.

Each day during the week, Participants will receive instruction of fundamental skills in a variety of sports which may include: baseball, volleyball, touch football, road hockey, various court and field games, etc.

For the true sports enthusiasts, boys & girls of any skill level. In sports camp, daily warm-ups and sport specific drills are in the sport camp program. Game strategy, rules of the sport, sport-specific educational classroom sessions, fitness, nutrition, conditioning, outdoor team games and other recreational activities are some of the many features of Sports Camp.

The camp will provide a combination of traditional sports and innovative activities for the younger sports enthusiast. In addition, participants will be involved in a variety of sports and recreational games.

Sports etiquette, skill development, fun and game competition, physical activity, fitness, an understanding of the rules and refereeing will be the keys to each activity. A supervised swim will be included each week.

Sports camp will be a wild week of sports every week! Participants will enjoy a number of exciting sports and fitness-related activities including ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, frisbee golf, tennis, ball hockey, beach volleyball, jump rope, basketball, soccer, baseball, handball, swimming, waterslide, etc.

Guest speakers will be visiting the sports camp.
